Although I haven't seen the idea implemented, local flyers discussed the use of small Radio Shack rare earth magnets (properly oriented) implated at the ends of the wing rod tube (when using a steel wingrod)to hold the wings to the fuze. Else, just put the magnets in the root rib and the fuze. They are tiny and powerful.
Actually, James Osborn was demonstrating some extremely powerful, small, rare earth magnets he had obtained from a cabinet maker's supply house, when the topic came up.

Doesn't someone make a set of aluminum wing keepers that use a rubber band
passed through the fuselage, attached to a hook and cam lock on each wing?
Would this not work with the Aquila? Who makes them?
