I glue polycarbonate all the time for my scrollsanders. I have found that certain types of CA glues will work just fine. Infact I have been using my scrollsader ends for control horns for over 4 years with great success.
First, odor fee CA deos not work. Super thin CA from NHP has some thinning solvent in the mix that dissolves tyhe CA. My horns are black so I can see the plasctic whe it hit my fingers. Thicker CA does not work as well. I use 0.020 drills for my DLG control horn holes, and have also heated up the wire and done a pluge drillinning via melting. the polycarbonate does not break when twisted. Old CD's might break if there is some lamination inside. However if you use the clear CD protective pieces whihc comes in the bulk CD packs that should work just fine. I have found also that the solvent needs to evaporate to get full strength. I have had an arguement for years with someone who says it will not work, but somehow I have made over 1/2 million sanders and have yet to have the CA to sandpaper glue joints fail more than 25 times. I have thought about making control horns from my sander pieces, and generallu use scrap parts. Good Luck.
