VaughnBrian,After reading your comments about using Hitech 225 servos, I thought I would relate some of my experiences with these servos.
Thanks for bring my attention to the 225 MG problem, I am using those on the ailerons of my EMS Duo Discus, I sure don't want them to fail on me. I don't usually use MG as they are more sloppy than the plastic gears servos. The one on the Duo is hard to get to so I thought may be the mg will be less likely to get damage so I don't have to dig them out to replace the gears.
Are you using 5 cells ot 4 cells on the 225MG's? And did Hitec mention how the servo die? motor failure? smoke let out of the electronics? Just curious to know. I don't like to use 5 cells because "some" manufacturers uses 7V components on their equipment, 10% variation will bring it down to 6.5 V or so. A freshly charged 5 cells pack off a quick charger will being higher than 6.5 V , thus smoke will come out of the electronics.
