Unless approved by AMA, scoring handicaps are prohibited." So if you intend on sanctioning your contests you will have to request a waiver from AMA for the use of scoring handicaps. I think Steve Kaluf, AMA Competitions Director, will need a very compelling argument before he will approve a waiver for this.
