The tip of the spray nozzle tends to change with different amounts of glue as it begins clogging. If you care, you need to clean the nozzle fairly regularly.
Personally, I don't really care. I continually monitor the spray volume, just visually, and adjust the distance to the object according.
Keeping the glue out of the shop is easy. Always spray outside. The stuff goes every where. Trying to keep track of wind currents (even inside) and particulate contaminants is a loosing battle. I hold the part in my hand and spray it outside. It takes just seconds to spray something so the time expense of preparing a place inside just isn't worth it.
