Check out www.arthobby.com they have a very nice selection in the
$125-$150 range but they are not composit, they are hardwood veneer over
virgin styrofoam, nice kits and not too difficult to build.

I tend to agree with Brett, the Mpx Lucky is probably the best
performing plane under $250. Zoom up to $300 and your options are much
more interesting though.

At $300 (+/-) you can get the MachDart, Nemesis, Flash, Fury,
Vindicator, Dominator, or a whole host of other planes, like the Airtech
Psycho from www.slopeflyer.com....

You should also consider the new breed of higher end foamies now
available such as the 56" Bluto from www.NorthCountyFlyingMachines.com
or the 60"
Gulp from www.SteveDrake.com. Both are capable of high speeds and
bounce well :-). I recently flew my Gulp in F3F and did well with it,
impressing everyone, especially myself! Yesterday I flew my Gulp SR in
the Long Beach Man-on-Man slope race and won the 60" class with, in
lightish lift.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I made the www.stevedrake.com website - I do not
collect royalties from sales proceeds.

Cheers,

Nathan Woods
