Here in MA. we have had snow on the ground for weeks upon weeks. I just hike into the the cranberry bogs with my wing under one arm, the fuselage and trans. in my hand, and a coat pocket full of batt. packs and #64's. I been flying my 400 powered ripmax coyote and 550 powered great planes spectre all winter in the snow. No, they are not pure sailplanes, but after a silent climb they float around quite nice and thermal OK. didn't think it possible but even with evrything all white with snow i still manage to find a decent thermal every 3rd flight or so. Today was 42F, the warmest in a looong time. Very enjoyable. just skimming across the fresh snow to land is great!! Larry
