Yea, I know about the fuse, but there is also a diode on the same module as the fuse. It's completely toast.
If it is part of the power circuitry, then it is very unlikely for it to be critical.
Try a nice big 3 Amp diode, say something from the 1N5400 diode family (any one will do), or others.
