1) When you start a round of speed, distance & duration, you have to fly the same airplane you started that round with. When the round is complete, then you can fly any one of your three registered backup planes, but still only one plane per round. (Yes, the paperwork in a "real" F3b contest is non-stop!)
2) There are several ways to get a zero in speed: blow up the plane before the run is complete, crash without crossing the finish line, have winch/tow/radio/etc problems and not make the run before working time has expired, or crossing the center line of the course (safety violation). Ahhhhh, the oh-so-sweet memories of World F3b competition. Sounds like it's a hot one this year! ;-) Norm PBSS -----Original Message----- From: jj & mj [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 7:06 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [RCSE] F3B Update I have several questions about f3b rules, I by no means intend these questions to be pointed at anybody, so please don't flame me. 1) What is the rule for back up planes, there are several pictures of people repairing a plane and it looks like they are determined to make the plane fly. 2) I have seen several scores of zero on the speed run, how do they zero a score of zero on a pylon course. I know on f3f you have to go back and get the turn if you miss a pylon, and slope racing you have to run an extra lap if a corner is missed. thanks jj ----- Original Message ----- From: "D'Anne Thompson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 4:22 PM Subject: [RCSE] F3B Update > JT must be pulling his hair out. > > The team has worked their way back up to 4th place. But things still look bleak for DP's try at a 5th championship.
