The PCM's don't talk nicely to each other, but PPM should not be a problem as long as you use the crystal intended for the receiver. JR/Airt are one shift and Fut/Hitec are the other. (Although Hitec does make some rx's for use with JR/Air. Those are labeled as such)
No FM tx will work with any AM rx and vice versa.
