What will be even more interesting to me is to see if JR finally puts multi
plane software into the top of the line 10X radio.

It is now an airplane or heli version only. You can do all the programming
needed for most gliders types with it, but you must wade through the menus
and feel your way around this very capable radio. There are no templates as
in the 8103 or in the Futaba and Airtronics radios. It is up to the user to
determine what they want to do and how to do it with no real guidance from
the radio for set up. Let's just say that it is not intuitive as it stands
right now.

It has never ceased to amaze me that JR can make a great 8 channel radio
with 3 aircraft functionality (8103) and then restrict their top of the line
radio to a single aircraft type (aerobatic fixed wing or heli).

Hopefully Joe's feedback will help to correct this in future versions. Plus
JR has a new 9 channel radio coming out, so that will be fun to see once it
hits the streets.

One final observation is that I think this shows that JR is taking more
interest in the glider community. Previously their team members have been
focused on the aerobatic, racing, heli, and jet communities. While Team JR
certainly has other glider guys on it, the glider world has not been a focus
for them in the past. No disrespect to the other Team JR glider pilots is
meant here, but let's face it, Joe pretty much trumps any of them for name
recognition and stature in the gilder world. I am very glad to see Joe on
Team JR.
