I, just this evening, purchased a Weller brand Soldering kit at Lowe's. The instructions, which took me almost 50 years to learn to read first, say that solder fumes are hazardous and the equipment should only be used with good ventilation. An article I read recently attributes such exposure to nerve and lung damage occurring in electronics workers. I'm sure that the time and amount of exposure must be considered, but with all the ways to protect one's self from such things, why take a chance?
