Bottomline: You'll be fine 99% of the time.
It is only that tiny 1% (most likely even less) that made me express some concern. In truth Nicads are very durable and NiMHs are pretty tough too. You can certainly use them in a parallel application. You can most likely charge them in parallel too, but this invites a bit more trouble than the parallel usage option.
Andrew was right. How about a more detailed scenario?
