I've always thought 7-8"" was about as high as you should go, but I found at least one site that says as high as 10" (ACP) - that sounds high to me. Also, white foam is a fairly broad category of foam - not as easy to gauge as say "foamular 210" or 2lb blue foam. If you can't experiment, sounds like you can't, I'd say err on the side of caution and try 8". Good luck, it's a beautiful ship....
