Number one, most old established scale only flyers (of the larger scale
planes) do not subscribe to this list or any other; they mostly just fly
their planes as much as they can. We talk and compare notes on the
flying field, at events, and to a small extent on the ISSA forum.

Number two. I dont think those not actually there can or would have
much to say about an event that they did not attend. We just have to
convince them they are missing something if they don't try it!!

"By US" is a telling comment, us who? It indicates a separation or
separateness from a perceived "group" whether that be RCSE posters, LSF
members, or TD contest flyers, I am not sure. In any event I am sure you
did not mean it that way, I know you. I include me in that "US" of pro
active enthusiasts if that is what you meant... :-)

What this will take is time. Time to spread the word via personal
contact, and hopefully future grass roots events of a similar nature to
get more involved. Pete Goldsmith is pumped. That helps.
What ever form it takes, whatever direction it goes, it is all good if
it gets more guys flying scale ships. A large part of this is getting
new scale flyers involved with scale sailplanes. The old guys already
are sold. We are looking for more friends in scale, if that means
running a contest to attract them, then good deal.

I firmly believe that once the average TD pilot starts flying larger
scale models (4+ meters) they will realize that these ships have higher
performance levels and wider flight envelopes than the planes they are
used to flying. This will attract them to the exciting experience of not
only the new skills required to fly modern scale ships, but the added
fun and challenge of aerotowing.

John,
Are the other scale type groups or lists saying anything about the fun
we had at the NATs this year?
Does anyone, other than US on this listseem interested?
