I am not claiming to have been shot down by the AWACS. A couple of people at the contest had made that comment. I had just repeated what I was told. At no time, did I state as fact, That the AWACS caused the crash.

The part that puzzles me is, I have flown the model for 3 years.Having flown it at the Nat's, high and very far away( past the power lines), and at many contest across the Midwest. I have not had any problem's with range or glitches. The equipment is a JR. 8103 with a JR. dual conversion PCM receiver (R945S). I had also questioned, why I was the only one to be hit, while 5 or 6 others were in the air at the same time. The response was  " Your frequency was picked out and jammed.

I am not pointing a finger at anyone, I just wish I knew what happened.

Hi Tom,

Did Johnny Berlin tell you about his encounter with an AWACS at the DARTS Soaring Challenge a couple weeks back?  Pretty interesting, based on your story....   Long and short of it is he was flying over the dog fields, the AWACS came over, he lost all controls on his ship - buried it.  Worked fine after he recovered it, even after the crash.

We get a lot of Guard / WPAFB traffic, but this was the first time we think there was any kind of impact on us.  Does seem like an odd coincidence.  I think W was in town, talking in Cinci or Tipp.
