maybe caus it's interesting to dissect, and not all of us soaring folk are as anal or narrow-minded...
Let's see...setting aside the fact that it was a beautiful model--a work of art, really--that was destroyed, maybe we can consider this:
It was a model aircraft with a wing planform not that dissimilar from many of the ships we fly.
It was (possibly) a type of accident that any one of us could have experienced with a sailplane. Hell--many of us (NOT yours truly, of course!) may already have experienced similar behavior with one of our ships!
It is a useful, though tragic, discussion.
It is fortunate that it did not involve any loss of life.
(Well, the owner slitting his wrists afterwards may or may not count...)
