The main problem is that the screw in
flap horns are too short. They need to be 6.5 mm longer Hi Guys,
While I have not built my Graphite 2 yet (still in England), I have
been thru this need for a longer 'screw in horn' thing with the original
Stork.
Actually I didn't need longer horns, it came with ball links that would pop off the balls on landings. I wanted to use regular clevis'. All you have to do is get a hex head bolt that screws into the flap
hole!
Heat the head red, flatten it with a few hits to the thickness of the clevis opening, then drill a 1/16" hole in the center of the flattened head, then dremel grind the rest of the head to look nice. That gives you any length you want and replacement if you lose one on the shop floor :-) Gordy |
