>>Is combat flown on the first sunday of each month at Los Banos? Well JJ you've sorta touched a nerve with me. First off, the Banos combat get togethers at Banos were always flown on the THIRD Sunday of the month (except when it clashed with Lindsel, he has no sense of humor). We set some sort of record in that we had flyable wind for 27 consecutive months! 27, imagine!
We called it the BASH and it was a genuine blast. Kind of like Visalia; it was a flying party except we flew 10 times as long and had much better parking. :-) Because we had about 200 less pilots. Plus, the good times, story telling and trash talking happened DURING the flying. Those Visalia guys don't know what their missing. Oh, and no dancing Elvis's either, but I digress. You can see a few shots from BASHes of years past at: http://www.billswingle.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=5&page=1&sort=dd The BASH lasted for ~39 months. But alas, two of the founding BASHers had to move out of the area (one of which was me) and the BASH has foundered since not very long after. Guys show up but no longer regularly. It chokes me up just thinking about it. Bill Swingle Founding BASHer Call sign: SlowStall RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
