We started the day with light winds cold temps and light rain.

I battled out the first rounds with Rich Burnowski who was born and bred in the briar patch of wind and cold.  He flew his new Fazer for the first time and it really suits his style and the conditions.  Launches were key.

But Steve Siebenaler was the true hero of the day.  He took his Pike Superior way out over the Museum in real balls move, found a gopher fart to work and buried a bunch of hot thumbs for a crush and comeback run to second place.  Easily one of the midwests best thumbs.  He has made tremendous improvements in his contest soaring skills since I let him sign off my LSF2 paperwork.

Marc Gellart just didn't have his head into it today, but look out tomorrow!

Paul Siegel was hot but got buried by one of my Visalia flights and that threw off his focus.

There wasn't any rockets, foamie night combat flights or races, no spud guns or all up last down DHLG battles, but there was tough man on man grit.

Making a notable comeback from some really embarrassing flying this season was Karl Miller who made a huge run from back in the ranks to third place!  Way to go Karl!

Pilots meeting is at 7:30 again tomorrow, weather is likely to be light winds, 85 degrees and blue skies again...er sorry thats here in Visalia :-)
