What a sweeping and useless generalization this is; a new and
unprecedented low.

At a stroke, apparently supported with excessive hero worship, go
the work of Eppler, Selig, Drela and more, people that have great
interest and passion in the design component of model building, and
sections that operate in low reynolds numbers.

Gone again in the same puff of pilot bias go the results of people
that work to bring design and finite element analysis software to
the desktops of people whose own interest is design and
construction, more so than flying.

And above all else, gone are the thousands hours of excellent
conversation, gallons of coffee, mail, sleepless evenings, challenge
and response that has resulted, personally witnessed, in models such
as the MapleLeaf Encore (as only one example) being copied in nearly
every detail.

For many, flying is only an artifact of the design and construction
area of concentration, and the lowest component of the totem pole.

The models taken to contests to show off pilot skills and he-man
zoom launches today are many, many steps behind what is really going
on.

Yes, it is my observation that Marks offerings are becoming more
commonplace. The performance is certainly there, and it may be
possible that hardcore configurators such as Mark are coming to
realize that it is possible to accurately construct their exotic
ideas. I have no proof. Strictly anectodal evidence. Why even
mold wings? Molds are like wings when not flying; useless.

A huge thank you to those that feed and inspire people to
experiment, draw, design, and build.
