Hey guys, a while back Pat McCleave asked for your digital camera recommendations,
and got a lot of good advice. I'm looking for the same kind of help.

I am technology friendly, so buttons and features are cool, not scary. I'm adept at PhotoShop, so post processing is taken care of.

I want speed, and versatility, which leads me to SLR's. I'm currently torn
between a Sigma SD9, Nikon D70, Canon EOS 300/10D/20D, or something used,
like the Canon D60.

My kind of shooting:
- Young Kids at play.
- Scenery, for vacations, hiking, camping, etc...
- Photojournalism, for soaring events, parties, etc...
- Action shots for capturing gliders in the air, launching, turning, etc...
- 99.5% of my images are destined for web, 0.5% for print

Things I want:
- SPEED
- crystal clear images, like these: http://www.f3f.co.uk/knewt/vkr2004/
- Compact. I'm figuring two decent lenses, but no more.
- Low bulk - I'm sure the plastic bodied EOS 300 is for me, and the 10D
is much bulkier than the D70, but there are also other considerations...
- Decent flash, built in.
- USB 2.0 or firewire
- I'm memory format agnostic. I own a few of each already :-)

Things I don't want:
- Shutter lag
- wimpy flash
- USB 1.0
- obsolete lens technology
- limited lenses & accessories

So with all that, what are your recommendations? and why? If you have made
a similar decision, what was the deciding feature for you? What features
do you still wish for or love the most? What do you like the least?

I appreciate your responses, and will tabulate and publish the results of
the feedback I receive.

Thanks in advance,

Nathan Woods

Nathan of the cameras you listed D70 best bet. Don't overlook Pentax *istD or Olympus E-1. Olympus will require a flash so you won't have to worry about a "wimpy" on camera flash.
