This is a very nice, quiet, compact vacuum pump. it is a Mada MadaVac II No.178. It runs on 115VAC drawing a rated 1.7A.
It has a vacuum gage and bleed valve to make setting the desired level easy.
When I run it and block the hose the gage indicates 22" Hg. When the built in gage reads 22" Hg my 4.5" Ashcroft gage shows 21.5" Hg. IOW It pulls plenty of vacuum for bagging and you can believe the gage.
It weighs a bit over 6 pounds.
It was once an expensive medical unit (retail ~ $350) but now is a humble shop tool that can be yours, shipped to your door in the continental USA for only $60.
