Jim - My Mom called me the other day and asked about the name change. Turns out that Dad had shown her his copy of Model Aviation, particularly the nice photo of her eldest son with two of his old flying buds. She'd like a full explanation of the reasons for changing my name. You could be in big trouble. Momma don't take no crap from yankeeboys. I told her that I was completely innocent and had absolutely no idea what was going on. And the real Bubba's of the world are in line right behind Momma. Start running while you can. Now I realize it is for woodys only but the points will be the same. In other club sponsored contests, mixing composit and woody hl planes in the same contest is not a problem because neither has a launch advantage..........MOM MHS HL is all about flying, not launching, but I will admit, there is some zoom capabilities depending on how far the HS is stretched. I always use a plastic launch line to keep it even for everyone. Also, your format seems like it would be a bit less strenuous - shagging that chute and flying in a standard HLG time window is tough, and I thought I was in fair shape. I'll try and get you an event calendar, see if we can coordinate some dates -we should have a calendar together pretty soon. Thanks, Brent RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News. In a burst of generousity one of our club members brought some excess building material to the meeting to give away. One of the items was a bag of what was labelled "Q-Cell". The gifter thought it was microballoons but was not sure. Anyone know what it might be? You're right - the Logic I was flying against on Sunday was holding back, but he could have outlaunched me by 50 feet, easily. I have that filed away in the category of "keeping it interesting" - I want to find a zip size that keeps everyone competitive, doesn't give someone a huge launch advantage. One idea might be a line nobody can back up past on launch, to discourage the ships that could take a zoom. Again, you're right - for this event, it would be nice to see the old fashioned duels at 20 feet above ground, working whispers. Heck, I'd even consider throwing again if it meant getting this going.
