You have to set the appropriate battery type. Nicad and NIMH batteries are charged using a delta peak method to determine the cutoff point; lead-acid and lithium batteries are charged using a constant-voltage method.
I'd not trust *any* lithium-capable charger that claims to be able to automatically determine the battery type - that way leads to madness - and cooked battery packs - After you connect a battery and select the appropriate chemistry you can set the # of cells and desired charge/discharge current. If you do nothing the charger sets them for you and gets to doing its thing. There used to be a full .pdf of the Miniron manual on the aerografixs.com site. It was also translated from german and suffers from unsual grammar at some points, but is quite readable. Looks like Roger replaced the PDF with just the text from that document. Bandwidth considerations, I guess. I still have a copy of the manual. It take some reading to digest what it try to say. For someone who wants 325.00 from me, it better has a customer support more than just a machine translated text. I don't think he even ran it through a spell checker! Will this thing fiqure out which chemistry battery I plugged into the "exits"? OR do I have to tell it? -- Brian Chan, An Electric Airplane Junkie @ San Mateo.Ca.USA RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
