Thanks John. Nothing to do with the ground on this one. Just tore out the
tip block, launch blade, block, and the next set of ribs, trailing edge,
etc. Have had problems with the launch blade flexing when I throw a little
hard, it kept causing the blade to loosen up. I super reinforced the blade
to block joint, top/bottom. This stopped the blade from loosening, which I
suspect then tranferred the complete launch load to the wing tip, which
finally failed. Having been a discus thrower, I dont "dip" when throwing,
not a good way to transfer the most energy into the thrown object - you want
to keep your shoulders and what ever you are throwing level, with your
throwing arm as far back as possible through out the spin(at least
w/discus.) As such I am pretty sure there has been no ground contact. I
simply suspect it is a case of too much momentum in the spin coupled with
too much arm whip and legs during the release. I now know the limits of the
Photon! Not sure If I will bother to repair it or not. Might try a
something else instead.
Thanks again, Walter
