My first sailplane was a Ted Strader Gulliver from Flying Models in 1963 or early 64. It was so directionally unstable that it was almost unifiyable. I decided that I could design a better one so I did. It was the Tern and was published in the May, 1977 issue of RCM. I flew nothing but original designs until 1975 when I finally broke down and built a Graupner Cirrus.
