Windows CE with touch screen input. Li-ion battery and a radio that uses
consumer grade flash memory cards. It does voice recognition for up to 24
commands. (Say "I ain't got it" and it can automagically go into full crow
mode) All sorts of interesting possibilities there.  Switches can be
customized, just by pulling them out and putting new ones in.
