Santa gave me a Picolario and installing it in a glider controlled by a Stylus has me partially stumped. The Picolario needs to be installed on a receiver channel that can have three positions, +100%, neutral and -100%, either proportional or a three-position switch. I cant find a way to control channel 7 or 8 (spoiler and gear) with a three position switch. Any of you Stylus gurus out there able to give me advice?
Worst case Ill install it on the rudder channel with a Y connector. Not perfect, but workable.

Hi Anker,
Here's the post I supplied to Gordy and Helmut at Picolario in 2003 regarding the Picolario and the Alti, using the Stylus. The first attempt to send was bounced by RCSE due to a size restriction, so here is part #1

Hi all,
In an attempt to catch up on a bunch of email, I have numerous emails asking essentially the same question. The quest was either to control the Picolario or the Alti2 with one of the 3-position switches on the Stylus. In the case of the Picolario, it can be made to report different information whether the servo position information is -100%, 0%, or 100%.
In the case of the Alti2, the actions are activation and marking, again based upon the servo position information.
I am providing two different solutions below. The first solution requires an (8) channel receiver and (1) free C-Mix, while the second solution requires a (7) channel receiver and (2) free C-Mixes.
===========================================
Solution #1 - (8) channel RX, (1) free C-MIX (C-MIX3 in this example) and control is made via the upper, top, left, front, 3-position switch (#15/#16).
===========================================
1. Plug the Picolario / Alti2 into the receiver channel #8.
2. Go to the switch menu (SW) and scroll to GEAR. Set the GEAR switch assignment to #15. While here, pull switch #15 and verify that its status toggles from OFF to ON.
3. While in the switch menu (SW), scroll to C-MIX3. Set the switch assignment to #16. Verify that the status changes from OFF to ON when the pressing the switch to position #16.
4. Scroll to the gear menu (GEAR). The display should read GEAR-2 and some percentage (probably -125%). Set this value to 0%.
5. Pull the spring loaded switch (position #15) and hold it. The display will change to GEAR-1 and some percentage (probably 125%) will be displayed. Set this percentage to 100%.
6. Scroll to the EPA menu and over to the spoiler channel (SP-L or SP-H). Place the flap stick to the top of the transmitter and SP-H should be displayed. Set this value to 0%. Pull the flap stick down toward the bottom of the transmitter and SP-L should be displayed. Set this to 0%, then back out of this menu.
7. Scroll to the C-MIX menu and select C-MIX>3. Set the master (MAS) to Spoiler (SP) and set the slave (SLA) to Gear (GE). Scroll to the upper, right corner of the screen and set the value to 100%.
8. If you wish to reverse the functions, you can either swap the switch assignments (#15 & #16) in the switch menu (SW) - GEAR and C-MIX3 OR you can change the percentage in C-MIX>3 from 100% to -100%. You will also need to scroll to the gear menu (GEAR), pull the upper switch to the front (#15), hold it and change the value of GEAR-1 from 100% to -100%.
You can plug a standard servo into channel #8 to see the results.

BTW, one "little secret" to remember when trying to mix some function onto the "unused" spoiler channel. You must first ZERO OUT TRAVEL IN BOTH DIRECTIONS IN THE EPA MENU, else any movement of the flap/spoiler stick will affect the mixed output.
Happy Holidays!
