Just had our first club contest of the year in Bakersfield and my new Escape
Lt. brought home the win.
It was a tough fought contest with 5 five min. flights. Because I had won
the last contest of the year I had to go first (club tradition) and the air
was terrible. I ended up 33 seconds short on the first round and as soon as
I landed here came the lift. End result was I had to make up 23 points from
the start but the Escape Lt. did it.
The last round battle was with Clarence Nickels but I beat him. How bad?
By 1 point. Yes after 5 rounds of 5 min flights in very hard air it ended
up a 1 point contest.
I've started building my second Escape Lt. but AeroModels was out of
rudders. So I decided to build one. George Joy had mention that they
perform better with a larger rudder so I decided to make one while waiting
for the molded one to arrive. You can see it on RCgroups under

some build pics as I go along with this one.
