I'm building a 2M. Poly with flaps. Wings are obechi over foam with a CF/Balsa/Fiberglass spar. Designing the fuse right now. Will probably loosely copy the Spirit tail feathers. I used the general plans of Mark Drela's Allegro spar with the vertical balsa. Came out a bit heavy due to my glassing skills. I used the templates from my 10 footer (SA7035-SA7036-SD7037-SA7038) and redid the planform using Lift3span as a lift distribution guide. I think the wings are going to look Duck-like, with a 9-7/8 inch root and 5 " tip, except for the bend.

The engineering on these things will kill you, time wise. Building without intructions is tough. Making everything line up correctly and fit around different pieces/under the skins is time consuming. It can take a week to figure out what to do then only an hour to execute.

Next is a Sapphire (Unlimited). Should be followed closely by a Quasoar (RES). Need to replace all the planes that I broke last year and cover all the classes at the Nats.

Hoping to build a Mini Milan for sloping this spring too.

Bunch of repairs, wings without fuses, and a need for a new handlaunch.

I guess I should start trading checks for airplanes like the ARF flyers. NAAAAAAAH. Building from kits is bad enough, resorting to ARFs is just nasty.
