Hi Arne,
Maybe I missed an earlier post of yours, but pray tell, what is this mysterious compressor of yours?
I'm considering a purchase of a 1/3hp Embraco compressor (refrigerator compressor) to serve double duty as a quiet compressor for my airbrushing and as a vacuum pump for bagging stuff. I can get them here in Canada for $150 brand new. If it'll work, the price is right !!!

Yep :) But I found something that does it better and holds its breath better too. New compressor pulls full vacuum (measured directly from hose) and keeps it at least for two hours when disconnected. My quick-n-dirty testbag had about -0.9bar (~26" Hg) (measured from the other end of the bag) and the thinned mylar went around the curved wingtip very well. New compressor is also very silent and does not get hot at all.
Best regards, Arne
