Intolerance isn't very attractive. By choice, I prefer to fly larger planes. But sometimes circumstances make it inconvenient to drag a large plane along, so it's nice to have a smaller plane as well. I have a selection of planes with spans from 148" down to 70", and when I'm flying I always have a good time. I don't ever recall standing in the grass under a cottonball sky flying even a small plane wishing someone would stop forcing me to do it.
Some comic had a line about sex that went something like..."When sex is good it's absolutely wonderful. And when sex is bad.... (thoughtful pause)... well, it's still pretty d****d good." Flying RC sailplanes is a little like that. Flying the 2M ship... or the sub-2M ship that I could take with me today is much more rewarding than not flying that gorgeous unlimited ship that I had to leave home. Sometimes we should just be a little more thankful that we're getting... some action... and not be so focused on slamming available options that work. For some folk, flying a 2M ship is the only option that works and they don't need a third party who isn't chipping in on the car payments ragging on them about the date they brought to the dance. Flying 2-meter beats the heck out of not flying. Now, how 'bout a new thread... one that's a little more positive. Regards, Tim RCSE-List facilities provided by Model Airplane News.
