It was my question awhile back that generated the
discussion of which digital camera to get. I
appreciate all the responces I got, both on and off
the list. Here is what I decided. I got a Nikon 8700.
My quandry was which to get for personal/hobby use as
well as something I could get prints I could use in
print advertising. I decided that the 8700 will more
than fit the personal/hobby usage as well as
occasional use for print. If I need photos of a more
professional style I'll have a professional take the
photos. I'm a hack with little knowlege of
photography. I figure if you take a photo with crummy
lighting with a great camera it will still be a crummy
photo. The other consideration is thwt my wife and son
will be using it. I like the point and shoot aspect
but the flexability to play with settings. I am more
than happy with the 8700. I got it on eBay for $500.
They are going for $700 at Best Buy etc. I spent the
extra money on Flash cards and extra batteries.
