I'm still very fond of rec.models.rc.air and rec.models.rc.soaring, and they're pretty much immune to downtime due to maintenance and such, though it does seem that fewer and fewer people are participating, having gone to the web forums instead. (rec.models.rc.soaring is already pretty much dead, but rec.models.rc.air still has some life.) Which is very sad.
