One of the DARTS guys, John Schmoll, used to show up at the field with a Vulcan. I remember it was very clean looking, very quick - reminded me a lot of a Super V.
Of all the times I recall him flying it, I never saw it thermal - not that it can't. He used to set it up, winch it as hard as he could, then do aerobatics with it until he ran out of steam. Reminded me more of a Swift than anything else. It's a beautiful ship; the image of him doing slow rolls in a dive over the field will always remind me of why I love sailplanes.
