George, JB is not the only one that would know this-I also have 2002 Vette, and all the '97--'04 Vettes have balsa wood floor pans. They use fiberglass sandwich istead of the CF.
Let's see, Sniedley, Terry Edmonds, Sieb and myself are all C5 owners, and Chuck Anderson has a C2 I believe.
The best part of the '97--'02 is that I can get 3-5 sailplanes in the back of my coupe, alomg with a winch, battery, turnaround and everything else I need for a day of flying. With a little help from the Chicago crew to bring my easy-up, I,ve had enough in there for a week at the NATS, and hope to do it again this year.
That is the nice thing about the Coupe style, which the new C6 Z06 will now have that body style, you can haul sailplanes. I had a Coupe, now I have a Z06, which has a notch back body style that GM will no longer make. It is really not practical to haul large wingspan unlimited models in the current Z06, that and the targa top are things I miss about the Coupe.
Ya George, that new C6 Z06 is a monster, I remember talking to Hartnut at Nats last year who was working on twin turbo prototypes for the engine, they ended up going NA with a small block 427. I'm sure it will be my next car, only when I tire of my current Z06 though... which still has the Ti exhaust. 8-)
BTW, guys, Sneidley is a huge gear head besides be a huge SOAR head... 8-)
In between watching raptors on Roebling Raceway in Georgia, we were doing a little of this for a couple of days...
