I've used about a billion Quantum 8s with never a hiccup, for what that's worth. My eyesight doesn't appear to be up to RCSE standards, however, so I doubt I've flown at the kind of range that many others here do.
The Sombra Shadow 3 (available at http://www.kennedycomposites.com) seems to be the latest in programmable-frequency receivers. I have some limited experience with one and so far it seems solid.
