Another great OVSS contest in the books, again, some really good contest flying going on. Long task times on top of some very challenging conditions makes for some very savage and ruthless MoM flying. There were some huge burials, and some of the smoothest flying I have seen from the majority group of OVSS pilots. Think last man down in many flight groups, and neutral air for a patch or two might be the golden spots on the field at any one given moment. Landing at the farm was unforgiving, and the goats liked to laugh at my mistakes from the adjacent pen.

The CD's Denny Zech and Mike Remus had to persevere through some rainy spots, but they did and kept calling longer task times when we had the opportunity to fly. The 7 winches were strong and we had Dave Campbell's son running a cart retrieving lines all weekend. There was always some donuts in the morning and a BBQ for lunch, the LOFT club does take care of its contestants. The huge get together and the Texas Roadhouse Sat. night was fun too.

Always good to see new faces in the OVSS, it's easy to come out and join the fun. (OVSS #3, St. Louis next weekend) You can start out in the low pressure Sportsman class or mix it up in the Expert class for some real competition.

Again, thank you LOFT club for the great time!

Here are a few pictures I snapped over the weekend:

P.S. Most all the guys posting about wanting change to the pop off rule last week didn't even show up to this contest, yet the LOFT club listened to what was posted here and tried out something new. I think it worked well for the guys that chose to use this new rule if they happened to pop off or break a line, you all missed out.
