Sailplanes are one... :-)
Well after 5 rounds...no one can touch me. Out of the 43 flying I am
in 44th. DP is in the top 3, probably LJ too and maybe Joe Newcombe (one time
junior ;-).
DP as a team mate has been generous in that he hasn't attack me with a
stake yet, but mutters of "get your head out of your ass Gordy" are
justified.
Team mate Paul Sherman and Marc Gellart have been carrying the team along side DP. This is Muncie and even DP and LJ had a few real squeekers.
Weather has been gorgeous for the most part. Hot but easily bearable. We had a short overcast period where it looked like it would rain, but it didn't happen...then cleared with more sun and puffy clouds. Our towers have been incredible and for the most part keeping our team in
the game. DP has his Sharon closer to dialed in and flying it really
well. In a duel in the same air with LJ in the 5th round, DP proved the
adage "more squares count", managing about 40+ seconds on LJ by the end of the
flight. DP was nervous and he collected a few high 5's from the team when
he ended up maxing.
Josh G, Tom Kiesling, Phil Barnes, Mike Lachowski, Rich Burnowski, Jim McCarthy...heck its a who's who of top guys flying. and then there's Jo Jo...he's sitting somewhere near 8th place with one semi short flight but the others included 100's...so a throw out round will insure him in the flyoffs. What's he flying? Volz Powered Pike Superior and Brio of course :-) The Icon group is doing great too and there are plenty of Sharons besides
DPs.
The only carnage that I saw was Rudy S's Zenit, he has been plagued with
pop offs and finally a crash. He's been having about the same kind of day
as me and MidSouth winner Jon Stone. (who has a sweet Sharon V tail for sale I
believe by the way....wait an d wail!)[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Want more info...too bad, I'm tired....and full of the BBQ tonite in the
campground area. ;-)
Nite, Gordy F3J is not for me :-(
