This weekend is the Tullahoma Contest, and since there are only light duty contest pilots down there we sent our back up to our back up pilot, LSF5 Ed Wilson (LASS Club President).

I begged him to go easy on those guys from Tn and AL because I know how sensitive they are...Fly'n Brian Smith, Herb, Kendal, Jon..... :-)

So while he took his secret weapon (I pity those of you TD open class guys who don't know about this plane!) the Evolution from Isthmus Models and his Southern Kite RES ship...(about 30 year old balsa kit) and managed to hurt a bunch of them anyway.

Congrats to Kendal winning Open and Jon Stone taking second, but a huge Louisville proud atta boy from his club kinfolk for taking third in Open and second in RES...tomorrows another day and I scolded him to lighten up some....more :-)

I heard it was great weather and some challenging tasks...the landings were two circles one in side the other. In or out. LSF1 landing task diameter for the big one and LSF2 inside it, located at its bottom.  Big landing point was only 30 so you HAD to get times today to get wood...however like most TD contests good landings really did help...
For instance if you hit a car, or smash into the crapper, chances for wood today was gonna be pretty much impossible!

Wish I could have been there, I let a lot of pilots down because apparently the AMA now has an official gold badge that says, "I Beat Gordy, but not Butch".

More news tomorrow!
