Man, I have been quiet about this contest for too long, I have been
bursting at the seams to talk about it. FINALLY!!!! YEA!!!!
Peter Goldsmith of JR/Horizon put together a great team of guys to discuss
the rules on this contest, and a great team of guys and gals to make it
happen. These are guys with a lot of vision and experience when it comes
to making an exciting and fun soaring contest. I was lucky enough to
participate with Peter Goldsmith, John Diniz, Tom Kallevang, Marc Gellart,
Jim McCarthy, Joe Wurts, Tom Kiesling, Mike Lachowski, Trow Lawicki, Tom
Copp, Craig Greening on rules discussion. There are a lot of cool ideas in
this contest, it really is going to be exciting.
There are also some great opportunities for other R/C Soaring companies to
participate in this event. As much as this may seem like a Horizon/JR
event, it truly isn't. Sure we got the ball rolling, but for this to be the
success we hope for, all the industry should help support it in some way.
If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact the LSF.
They have a support package for hopefully everyone and they would love for
you to be involved. There will be sponsorship levels for everybody,
including vendor opportunities.
I am glad Horizon is seeing the vision of this opportunity, and we hope
other manufacturers will also see what great opportunities this brings for
everybody.
