Thanks, I've had some other issues with the experimental vmdk I was using from 
Wade. Having used the zxy-liveinstaller from the original Blueberry ISO 
software update is working just fine, sorry for the distraction.

Wade: Just for the record, here were the issues I had run into with the vmdk, 
eventually breaking the image:

1) software update was failing
2) terminal would crash if you switched away from the activity
3) very little free disk space available which caused...
    a) the really annoying dialogue that keeps trying to switch you to Journal 
to 'delete stuff'
    b) followed, I think, by sugar not wanting to correctly shutdown (stops at 
just the zoom views)
    c) followed by failure to launch Terminal
    d) followed by loss of all Journal entries a few cycles later

Looks like Sugar really doesn't like running out of disk space. I still have 
the image and can boot it to single user mode if anyone want's me to go look at 
something.
