Sebastian:

soas-3-20091228.iso (more comments) on preliminary run:

tested on:
* VMworkstation 6.5.2
* booted from burned CD
1. has "live user" as name on startup
( note: If you hit left button [back] you can change name from "live user")
2. zyx-livinstaller crashes in both user and root terminal after brief start.
3. livinst (Anaconda) crashes also the same way
> As a result cannot make VM or install to USB using these 2 methods<

4. Browse loads Analyze fine from Browse / Activities.
5. XoIRC v4 application only opens #olpc-help , should it also open #sugar?
( still unable to save IRC settings by clicking on tab and checking auto join box)
6. "Register" on f3 menu ( switches to schoolserver.xsdev.solutiongrove.com)
( can edit entry on control panel/network to jabber.sugarlabs.org and reboot)

>Are schoolserver and jabber the same connection?
  I see the same Avitars on F1 Neighborhood using both settings

otherwise looks good

Hi Sebastian,

by popular request, there's now a Sugar on a Stick snapshot with the
latest Sugar development release available. Please note that this
snapshot is already part of our way to Sugar on a Stick v3.

It's still based on F12 for stability reasons, though (this will change
in the development cycle). But it incorporates already a number of
significant changes which are part of the change to the SoaS v3 builds.

The build is available here:

http://download.sugarlabs.org/soas/snapshots/3/soas-3-20091228.iso

Please follow the Blueberry instructions to put it on your flash drive.

You can even run it on your XO-1 from a flash drive (NAND installation
possibilities are being evaluated) by using liveusb-creator.

Afterwards, plug it into your XO-1 and type: "boot u:\boot\olpc.fth"

However, a known issue is (on the XO-1 only) that the X session tends to
crash when trying to scroll. Help with debugging this would be very welcome.

Hi Peter! ;)

Given that this is only using upstream and sugar 0.86 is in Fedora 12
is the 0.87.x components in their own repository? If so where is it
:-P

Well... this was accomplished by doing a quick & dirty rebuild. Here's the repository: http://download.sugarlabs.org/soas/repositories/3/

Those are exactly the F13 packages, just rebuilt. As soon as we move on to using F13 as the base system, this repo will be nuked.
