That is what the Mac boot CD is supposed to do.
Enable the Mac to boot from the CD then switch to the USB

Is this the boot helper I posted earlier? It won't work with Sugar-v4,
just v3 Mirabelle. I can rebuild it for v4 if you're interested in
testing it.

After a little fiddling , I got your

To work with a 2GB USB script installed soas-v3-Mirabelle USB
I found that the USB booted but the graphics caused a very
distorted/smeared image.
After I did the folowing changes' it boots fine:
Method:
Take the Mirabelle USB and mount it in a Linux Box. Open the USB;
edit the 4 files in it (attached) to match:
Fedora/EFI/boot.conf
Fedora/EFI//grub.conf
Fedora/EFI/isolinux.cfg
Fedora/syslinux/syslinux.cfg
Put the mirabelle USB in the Apple Air USB port
Load the soas-3-boot-test.cd in a External USB CD/DVD drive and
connect it to the 2nd USB port on the Macbook Air
Hold down the "C" key and press power button. release power button -It
will make a bong sound- continue holding down the "C" key until you
get a fedora blue boot screen from the Spinning CD. hit TAB and edit
the boot line like the CD_boot Menu-changes.jpg show.
edit out "quiet" and and add "nomodeset xdriver=vesa"
Hit return and the USB will begin boot sequence.
Disregard the ata:COMRESET failed (errno=-16)messages (repeats t least
3 times)
Eventually the USB will Boot to F3 Ring. (Mirabelle_f3.jpg)
I am sure that all 4 of the .cfg files do not need to be edited and
saved on the USB, but It does boot the USB into Soas correctly.
Next I have to buy a network adapter, the MacBook Air wireless is not
recognized by Network Manager....Maybe I should have obtained a
Macbook with a CD and network Cat5 installed. : /

Please do make one, if it works with Soas-v4; you will be a Hero. I
will gladly test it ( I have no Intel Mac however).
One caveat is that f15 seems destined to use systemd (
http://0pointer.de/blog/projects/systemd.html ) and upstart for
booting. : /
It was experimented in early Soas f14 builds and proved much too buggy.
NOTE: As a test. I did burn your soas-3-boot-test.iso to a CD and
booted with it in a hp Laptop.
It found and switched to my 2 GB Soas-v3-Mirabelle USB and
sucessfully started it : )
