Martin thanks, Pressing shift at boot time was the missing info that I needed. It works OK.
Is this a hardware issue? I am unclear whether this is happening to everyone or just some of us. This appears to be the relevant bug report: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617115 Can anyone who's having the problem or dealing with the problem confirm? Martin PS - If nobody's responding, please try to maximise the incentives for people not having the problem to help you: 1) try not emailing marketing about soas boot hang problems 2) try not emailing sugar-devel about soas boot hang problems 3) try summarising what you've already investigated 4) try googling for the key terms: I tried "fedora live cd boot hang syslinux" and that bug was the second result; the first being relevant but a bit older.
