Gene Dolgoff's 3D Vision: Using Crowdfunding To Turn the World 3D
----
Santa Monica-based Fundable (www.fundable.com) is a newly launched,
crowdfunding site which is headed by local entrepreneur Wil Shroter.
Recently, an interesting project popped up on the site--a a 2D to 3D
conversion project, from the inventor of the original, LCD projector,
Gene Dolgoff. Dolgoff has a fascinating background--he invented the
first LCD projector, he helped inspire Star Trek's Holodeck, and he
also is a serial entrepreneur who took his company public on the
NASDAQ in the 90's. Since Dolgoff is raising money for his 2D-to-3D
startup via Fundable, we thought it would be interesting to hear about
the project, and how he ended up turning to Fundable.

Tell us about your project?

Gene Dolgoff: After years of research and development, we have
developed technology which converts two dimensional video to 3D. Not
only that, but we're able (More...)

Trinet White Paper: Options for handling your HR functions

HR is a necessity when you have employees. And what could be better than
taking a set of duties – which although a necessity, are not a core
competence – off your plate? According to a Small Business Association
study, the average small business owner spends 25%+ of the time handling
employee-related paperwork.

This average increases to a staggering 35-45% if the tasks include
recruitment, hiring, and training of new employees. After all, you have no
interest in processing payroll twice a month, negotiating benefits with
insurance carriers, or worrying about how to comply with a litany of
government regulations. You entered into business to build a lasting
legacy, deliver great products or services, and generate revenue doing
what you do best. So why NOT outsource HR? Read this paper to learn more.

Phosphor-converted, solid-state white lighting is increasingly becoming
the technology of choice for dispelling darkness. Our speaker will explain
how this efficient, clean, and long-lived lighting technology works, and
how it will change our world. The advent of bright blue solid-state light

of a phosphor material that converts part of the blue light to a longer
wavelength (lower energy) light. The mix of blue and the longer wavelength
(typically yellow) appear white. The key materials involved in this process

August 15, Costa Mesa -- OCAMA Signature Speaker Series - Peter Kraus, UCLA
Anderson School of Business. Topic: "Word of Mouth in the Modern World -
Selling in a Tempest"
Times of adversity create the greatest opportunities. If business people
know what to do they would judiciously exploit the resources available,
but they are not necessarily trained to hear the subtle and complex, but
not vague customer message for developing a more effective value
proposition. The Great Recession is 'bigger" than The Great Depression,
with 40% of collage graduates unable to find a job, with institutions of
all kinds failing in every which way, while people and corporations with
capital realize greater gains and record profits unheard of in the history
of the United States. In these times when nothing is as it was and
technology has changed everything we have to use unusual tactics and
unconventional and counterintuitive countermeasures to reach our goals and
objectives in what seems to be a fire storm. See
