However, the Woodland Hills-based firm isn't satisfied with stopping there--it now wants to own the entire transaction--from finding a local service provider, to booking an appointment with that provider, to presenting estimates, invoices, and collecting payments, and has launched a whole set of products in that area yesterday. What we see, is this is (More...) http://bit.ly/XZFLhs --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Emulex Acquisition of Endance Advances ---- Costa Mesa-based Emulex reported Tuesday that it now owned 89 percent of Endance Limited, the developer of network performance management and monitoring appliances it said it would acquire in December. According to Emulex, that gives it control of the firm; Emulex said that it is likely that Endance will shortly be de-listed from trading on the London Stock Exchange AIM. Emulex announced its acquisition of Endance in December, in a deal worth approximately $130M. Emulex CEO Jim McCluney said in a statement that the buy will double its total addressable market. THQ Sets Sale Of Remaining Games ---- Agoura Hills-based videogame maker THQ--or at least, what's left of THQ--released the details of how it plans to sell its remaining intellectual property late Tuesday, saying it expects to complete the bidding and sale of the properties by mid-May. (More...) http://bit.ly/ZAopup olloclip Adds iPod Touch Lens Adapter ---- Olloclip, the developer of the clip-on lenses fo rthe iPhone and iPod, said today that it has launched a new product supporting 5th generation iPod touch devices. Olloclip's lenses add a fisheye, wide-angle, and macro lens in a single accessory for the iPod touch. Olloclip said the new product is an adapter which allows its existing olloclip for iPhone 5 to work with the iPod touch; those adapters cost $9.99 for two adapters, with the Olloclip lenses retailing for $69.99. Olloclip is led by Patrick O'Neill, and originally grew out of a crowdsourced, Kickstarter project. Anametrix Debuts Mobile App ---- Anametrix, the developer of marketing analytics software based in San Diego, and started by the team behind WebSideStory, said today that it has released its mobile app for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry. Anametrix said the new mobile app gives marketers access to their analytics data, on any tablet or smartphone. Anametrix develops software which is used by companies to report and understand their marketing efforts. The company is backed by TVC Capital. The firm's various apps are now available in their respective app stores. Silicon Beach Lines Up Big Group For SXSW Event ---- A big group of local, Silicon Beach startups and established tech companies have signed up to showcase the Los Angeles high technology world, according to a list released today by Silicon Beach Sunday. The newest? Be Great Partners said Monday that it has launched a new technology incubator and accelerator, in the Variety Building at 5900 Wilshire Blvd. Be Great Partners said its flagship company it has been incubating is Scambook, an online service which helps people complain about businesses and help get those issues resolved. The incubator said it was founded by Lin Miao. The incubator/accelerator did not give any details on its acceleration program, how or whether it makes investments, or other details. The firm, which is led by John Ellis, said that it has just passed one million "taps" of content on its site. The site says it had 8.6 million visits and 78 million page views, from 4.1M unique visitors in Q4 of 2012. The site features photos, images, and videos of everything from stylish products to (not unsurprisingly) beautiful women.
