management on steroids, said today that it has raised $1.5M in a seed
funding round, which included local high profile technology executives
Ted Meisel, Gil Elbaz, Sean Moriarty, Jarl Mohn, along with Siemer

the online learning market, and has acquired Creativebug, an online
site which provides educational videos around art and carft

Mogreet Targets Small Businesses With Self-Serve, Mobile Marketing

Los Angeles-based mobile messaging and marketing firm Mogreet is
targeting the small business market with a new, self-serve offering it
is calling Mogreet Express, the company announced this morning.
According to Mogreet, Mogreet Express allows small- and medium-sized
businesses to use text and multimedia to communicate with their

Nimble Sets Chief Marketing Officer

Santa Monica-based customer relationship management software developer
Nimble has hired Eric Quanstrom as its new Chief Marketing Officer and
Vice President of Marketing and Sales, the company announced today.
Quanstrom joins the company from Sorenson Media, where he was Chief

uSamp Names New Insights, Strategy Head

Encino-based survey and sampling technology developer uSamp announced
this morning that it has expanded its Consumer Insights division
through the hiring of a new Senior Director of Insights and Strategy.
uSamp said it has hired Robert Clancy, a veteran of such companies as
Diageo, JCPenney, Blockbuster and PepsiCo, to the position. uSamp
offers up services to companies and marketers, allowing them to sample
and survey potential customers and help provide information to drive
product and service decisions.

Three Day Rule Plans Expansion To New York, San Francisco
----
Los Angeles-based Three Day Rule, the Los Angeles startup which is
looking to reinvent dating through a subscription, invite-only
service, told its users Monday that it is getting set to launch in New
York City and San Francisco in coming months. The company did not
provide exact dates and details, but did say it had begun signing up
potential members in those cities. Three Day Rule is headed by Val
Brennan and Talia Goldstein, and is targeting career-oriented
professionals looking for participating in personalized, hand-picked
exclusive events to meet other like-minded singles.

Beats Electronics Names General Counsel
----
Santa Monica-based Beats Electronics, the headphone and audio
electronics brand--plus new digital music streaming service
operator--said today that it has named a new General Councsel. The
firm said that Rafferty Jackson has been named to the position to
provide strategic legal and business advice to the company. Jackson
was previously VP and General Counsel at clothing and outdoor brands
firm VF Outdoor, which owns such brands as The North Face, JanSport,
Lucy, Eagle Creek, Vans, and Reef. She also previously had served at
Ubiquity Software Corporation, MacroMedia, and also advised WebTV
Networks/Microsoft in private practice. Beats Electronics was founded
by Dr. Dre and music producer Jimmy Iovine,
