(REANNZ). Emulex said REANNZ is deploying its EndaceProbe Intelligent Network Recorder (INR) and the EndaceVision Network Visibility Software to improve network and security monitoring of its 10Gb Ethernet network. Size of the deal was not announced. REANNZ operates a network that connects 170 universities, schools, and businesses in New Zealand. Lytx Wins Deal With Beer Distributor ---- San Diego-based driver safety systems developer Lytx, which makes the DriveCam driver safety systems, reported a win with a distributor of beer on the East Coast. Lytx said that Peerless Beverage has deployed the company's systems across its entire fleet. Financial impact of the deal was not announced, and Lytx did not say how big Peerless Beverage's fleet is. Lytx offers up a video-based driver safety system. Boingo Exec Named To Wireless Broadband Alliance Board ---- Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless said this morning that its Vice President of International Markets, Bjorn Thorngren, has been re-elected to the Wireless Broadband Alliance's (WBA) Board of Directors. The WBA is a groups which focuses on interoperable, global Wi-Fi hotspot deployment. Boingo said it has been involved as a leading contributor that group since its inception. Other companies involved in the WBA include Arqiva, AT&T, BT, Cisco Systems, Comcast, iPass, KT Corporation, NTT DOCOMO, Orange and Ruckus Wireless. Kurion Taps DOE Vet For Fukushima Project ---- Irvine-based nuclear waste cleanup technology provider Kurion announced this morning that it has named a Department of Energy veteran to lead a new effort at Japan's Fukushima reactor. According to Kurion--which recently announced a deal to clean up water at the plant--it has named Matthew McCormick as Project Director of that effort. McCormick previously had been involved in the nuclear waste cleanup effort at the Hanford, Savannah River, and Rocky Flats cleanup areas here in the U.S.,; he was most recently manager of the DOE's Richland Operations cleanup. Novatel Wireless Shuffles Executives ---- San Diego-based Novatel Wireless announced a major, executive shakeup late Friday, saying that it has named Alex Mashinsky Interim Chief Executive Officer, and has launched a search for a new CEO. According to the company, it's current CEO, Peter Laparulo, will continue to serve on the board. In addition, the company said it has promoted Slim Soussi, CTO of the company, to President and Chief Operating Officer. Novatel Wireless said it has engaged an executive search firm to help find a new CEO. The company did not give a reason for the big shift.
